4th Sunday Supper Club

4th Sunday Supper Club

Every fourth Sunday of the month, a church group or business group prepares an entire meal, brings it to Friendship House, and serves it up to the community at large. Everyone in the neighborhood is welcome – they don’t have to be a Friendship House client.

The residents love it because they don’t have to cook a Sunday meal and they get to see their neighbors.

The volunteers love it because they have a chance to mingle with the folks that they serve. Volunteer Sheryl Lucas tells us, “It’s a great way to connect face-to-face with the community we serve. It’s fun sitting side-by-side, sharing a meal together. I get to hear their stories, learn about their lives, their challenges, their joys.” They usually have a great spirit of hope that is uplifting and inspirational.”
